The city state game is super powerful and will secure a victory in most science, religious, diplomatic, and tourism games. Excess luxuries of course, but also excess strategics (unless it would put you at a military disadvantage). Trade with AI for gold so you can buy things quickly. In many cases building an ED in a city can result in more yields than a direct yield district! Try to get all your cities covered by both an entertainment district and a water park, thats usually enough to keep most cities very happy.
The yield bonus/penalties from happiness is huge.up to 20% boost to all yields. Do not neglect culture every city should have a monument at least. That is what gets you to your first government and to fuedelism for the builder policy card. Get your gov plaza as soon as you can though and build Ancestral hall (or one of the other 1st tier districts if doing a specific strategy that calls for it).Ĭulture is king in early game. Generally don't focus on districts early, military settlers and builders are for more important in the first 100 turns. Be mindful of what districts you want in your cites most cities will want a harbor or commercial, and then whatever districts helps toward your victory condition. They don't all have to be big, as long as you can get 2-4 well developed cities the rest can just get to pop 7 and do what you need to do, and in some instances pop 4 is plenty and in others you might be shooting for pop 10. Most games you will want a lot of cities, 20 or more. DO NOT give away your city location (unless you know you are safe from them either because of distance or you have enough military to dissuade an attack or defend against one.) Get open borders with them too as soon as you can to also improve relations. Always send a delegation as soon as you meet the AI. Usually a couple archers is enough to stop early aggression from the AI, but not always, especially if barbs or another AI jumps in.īut I don't want to overplay the AI aggression either, as its usually not a problem if they aren't right by you. Or play a map one step larger but remove 2 of the AI to give more space. I'd suggest playing on a map other than continents, because you are typically pushed up against other AI on those maps. If the AI finds your city early they WILL invade you, as your Combat Score will be so much lower than theirs and they will think they can take you out easy. The AI starts with a handful of warriors and gets two bonus settlers (the settlers pop as they settle their first and second cities). In higher difficulties, the AI gets a boost to Technology, Civics, and more starting units. The hardest part about deity is the early game.Alternatively, pressing Up or Down on the Directional Pad will also cycle between available focuses.Selecting it will change the cursor’s focus. There is a “Swap Units” option on the Unit Action bar when in this situation. When two selectable items are on the same hex, how do I switch between them (e.g., a military unit on the same hex as a city)? Alternative options available are “Toggle,” which allows you to press a button to toggle Tooltips on or off, and “Always Show,” which will always display Tooltips when available. This behavior can be adjusted in the Options menu under the Interface tab. By default, Tooltips are set to a behavior of “Delay Show,” meaning they will display when the cursor has been unmoved for a brief period of time.Keyboard and mouse support is something we’re interested in, but don’t have anything to share at this time. This will take you to the 2K Account page to accept terms and finalize the account. From there, add in your email address and desired password, and then choose “Create New Account.”.To create a new account, press the button shown on the Main Menu. You must add in information in the 2K Account fields before pressing “Create New Account,” or account creation won't continue. For those of you enjoying Civilization VI on console, we've put together a list of likely questions (along with their answers) below.
